Here is an article that is public. There are several pieces of news that I don't think had been mentioned before.

It

Bottom line:
$60 million facility
90,000 sq ft
30 year license with four options of five years each
Current timeline for opening is by the end of 2014
500,000 visitors projected for first year
$17.50 per person (that seems like a fair price, especially considering a movie costs $11 or $12...I'm glad they kept it under $20)

The article says the Omni Hotel is contributing significant capital, and that other new sponsors include KIA, Under Armour, Georgia-Pacific and AT&T Inc.

That's in addition to previously announced funding: Chick-fil-A Inc. $6 million; the Chick-fil-A Bowl $5 million; The Coca-Cola Co., $2.5 million plus marketing commitments; the Georgia Power Foundation, $2.5 million; Brasfield & Gorrie LLC, the general contractor, $500,000; the city of Atlanta, $1 million; plus, "a 'handful' of sponsors [who] don’t want to be identified at this time."

The College Football Hall of Fame also has received a $22.5 million loan from Regions Bank, BB&T and Fifth Third Bank to help it with the cash flow to build the project.

The state of Georgia has committed to provide $15 million in bonds to build infrastructure improvements around the attraction, including the parking garage.

Pretty impressive!

Do people actually go to a college football hall of fame? It seems like a waste of money honestly.

The current facilty in South Bend, Indiana was projected to see 150,000 visitors a year, but it only saw 115,000 it's first year, and about 80,000 per year since. For some reason, they think they'll get 500,000 per year here in Atlanta. I can see Atlanta drawing more visitors than South Bend, but I find it hard to believe that attendance will grow more than six-fold. I think some investors are going to be sorely disappointed.

Actually it is very, if not extremely, feasible. South Bend is definitely a big place for college football... no doubts there... but that can't compare to the huge population Atlanta has and more importantly the huge convention industry and amount of business travel. We have a huge amount of demand for attractions to go see, particularly in Downtown. There is a reason the museums are locating and doing well where they are between the major hotels and the GWCC.

In constrast South Bend is a small regional city and college town and mainly only pulls in outside visitors for footballs games a few times a year... and they will largely be the same visitors each time.

Atlanta has a constant flow of new customers for museums.

There will be a time where our building will out pace demand, but that hasn't seem to happen yet.

And--

Atlanta is the capital/at the heart/the center of "College Football Country."
