I couldn't wait to leave for college and get out of the city where I went to high school. I don't think that is uncommon. I have lived in East Cobb for 15 years and never wanted to move to Sandy Springs or Buckhead, even before I had children. My children are more than welcome to move there when they reach adulthood, however.
