Husband will be working in Alpharetta.
Any communities S of the city worth checking into? We are trying to avoid the traffic/grid lock as much as possible and looking E of the city does not appear to have any major arteries to Alpharetta.
Would like a growing area for resale down the road. Kids are out of the house in college, so school not a issue - except again for the resale thing.
If anyone can point us in the right direction (s) I can start the leg work.
Thanks,
toots1

South of Atlanta or just south of Alpharetta? South of Atlanta and you're getting into a worse commute than heading east. Traffic is annoying, but going further away won't really make it any better when it comes to Alpharetta. You could try just south of Alpharetta, in Roswell, and it shouldn't be too bad.

I would start looking in the area of the zip code your husband is working in. Alpharetta depending on where it is touches Roswell, Duluth, Cumming and Canton. After looking in his zipcode I would research the touching cities and also keep in mind the distances to the main highways GA 400 or I-85 for trips into Atlanta.

Avoid south of Hwy I-20 (southside of the entire city).
