My family would like some info on relocation to Atlanta, preferably the north suburbs. We are looking for an upscale area with good schools and a good family presence. Orlando does not have the opportunities in the IT consulting field for me that Atlanta does and my daughter is not yet kindergarten age, so we figure it would be a good time to relo. Plus we haven't found the family and neighborly feeling we are searching for. I'm originally from upstate NY and like the feeling of comradery folks seem to share up there. I also don't want to spend the rest of my life on yard work !

What we do want is a city-like suburb, with minimal yard to maintain and be able to walk to shopping and restaurants. We are willing to spend up to 500K if the location is right for us.

Any advice appreciated ...
