PA added Slots & Table game to 'prop' up horse racing a few years ago. So far it done nothing good, there. Horse raceing time has past'ed. People dont have the time to spend hours at the track, and we dont need any more betting....

I think Atlanta may be different since we always have a lot of visitors because of our location. Now the rest of Ga may be different

I dont see it being a big visitor draw. There are lots of tracks around (most are die'ing) If they put in at the airport, inside the secure zone, they might get some traffic, We can have different races. The Race round A , B, C, D E..... would be fun to watch them dodge the planes backing out of the gates...

If I wasn't moving I would be leaping for joy. Seriously.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a horsey family. Maybe it's because I find no greater joy (rather than giving birth, marrying, and other family stuff) than being at Churchill Downs to watch the most exciting two minutes in sports.

I dunno, I just love horse racing. It's the sport of kings.

They've been talking about this for 40 years. I had some friends back in the 70s who were convinced it was going to happen and they graded the land and were ready to start building the grandstands. It'll be great if it finally gets off the ground.

It would be a huge revenue generator. Texas finally did it to their advantage. Unfortunately there are way too many backwards thinking buffoons in the legislature and too many ignorant voters with their noses stuck in bibles that keep electing these idiots. But cross a river or a highway into another state and it's a whole different world. Florida is well known for it's assiciation with the horse racing industry as is many other states, states that are very close by. It makes too much sense, maybe too much sense for the simpletons in the gold dome to understand.

They should have a special showing of movies like Seabiscuit, Secretariat, Ruffian and Black Beauty for the State legislature. Let them walk up close to a Thoroughbred and put their hands on his withers and feel his breath and look him in the eye. Then give them a free weekend at the track somewhere, and access to a couple of jockey club parties. If those guys don't want horse racing after that they're dumber than I thought.
