Hello All,
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. We are moving to Marietta the end of this year with our two young children. We have done research on the good school and are looking in those areas for homes. Can anyone tell me is West Marietta a good place to raise a family, low crime, safe and has good schools? THere seems to be new developments in that area and we are leaning towards that area. My husband will work right outside the north part of the loop. We are looking for the shortest commute but also good schools, low crime and homes in the 250-300K range. What we are mostly confused about is which parts of Marietta should we look in and which parts should we steer clear of. Schools and a good neighboorhood are most important for my family. Thank you!

Also any mothers groups or information on activites for young children would be appreciated. Thanks again.

The nicest part of west Marietta is north of the loop, especially above Marietta High, all the way to the top edge of unincorporated Marietta (and higher). East Marietta has slightly better schools, however. There are probably a gazillion homes for sale in your range. It's a buyer's market today. Northwest Marietta and Kennesaw are very low crime, and an excellent place to raise a family.

I live in the area and it's "a good place to raise a family, low crime, safe and has good schools." I want to make the distinction between "West Marietta" within the city limits and "West Cobb" with a Marietta address. Both are nice, but the unicorporated areas outside the city attend the Cobb County Schools and rely on other county services, rather than Marietta City Schools and city services.
