My husband is being transferred to the area right out of Ft. Macpherson. We are looking to rent a house in a good school district, our son will be in the 7 th grade. Also, if at all possible looking for a place that is relatively young, and trendy. Please, help as we must move by August 13th.

Please if anyone can help we would greatly appreciate any advice.

Thank you

I don't know about schools, but the only areas I know of near Fort Macpherson that are somewhat trendy are downtown East Point and parts of College Park. When I used to live near there a few years ago there were several new restaurants and bars that had opened and seemed to be doing very well: Oz Pizza, East Point Corner Tavern (good food and full sized pool tables), Oscar's Restaurant (upscale dining), The Brake Pad (burgers and beer in a converted auto repair shop), and a few more whose names escape my memory. All of those places had a young clientele. East Point is a mile or two from Ft. Mac., College Park is maybe four miles from Ft. Mac.

That area will be changing over the next several years since Fort Macpherson is closing. It could become the next hot-spot, or possibly the next dump. Tough to say.
