So my wife and I are relocating to Atlanta by the end of the year! We have decided we really want to go with the Peachtree Heights West/Habersham Area or possibly Country Club of the South. We definitely want to be in the city, but then we also like how at CCOS we have the guarded gates, tennis, and all those amenities. We have a Five year old daughter, Three year old son, and Ten month old son, so we are also going by their needs. We really want to be in Atlanta verses the burbs, there is just something about it. Then we also love all the amenities of CCOS, so I would love to hear some opinions on CCOS so we can decide which one is the best. We will probably send the children to Woodward Academy, and there is the bus from CCOS which is nice.

Also are the public schools which CCOS are zoned to are they considered better than other area schools?
I believe they are Barnwell Elementary, Autrey Mill Middle, and Johns Creek High. Anybody who lives in there who has any opinions to give would be excellent!

The schools are all Excellent!*
*Johns Creek High is new- starting it's second year, so I think it's safe to say it's good but, the jury is still out.

As far as CCOS- use the "search this forum" box at the top of the ATL page- it's been cussed and discussed, hashed and rehashed several times. And most, if not all responses are from outsiders- not from anyone who actually lives there.
Some quick info- lots of foreclosures, and the Golf Club went into foreclosure/Chapter 7 (?) It was not sold on the courthouse steps- no one made an offer.
It is currently being run by a club corp through the bank that holds it.

Those two options are very, very different. It is hard to compare them at all - inside the perimeter vs. outside the perimeter, older traditional homes vs. newer "McMansions", City of Atlanta public schools vs Fulton County schools..... It seems like you would be leaning one way or the other. I just can't imagine being torn between two such different lifestyles.

Additionally, I always cringe a little when people of very young children talk about which private school they are going to send their children to. You don't know what your children's academic needs will be and you have no way of knowing if they will get accepted (all three of them) to the school of your choice. It is best to stay loose with these issues until your children are older and to purchase a home in a public school district that you could be content with if you chose that as an option.
