Hi - we are going to need to buy a new car when we get to town.

Any recommendations on reputable dealers and service centers for Fords & Toyotas?

thx.

If you want a good Ford Dealership then Akins in Winder Ga is a good one.

http://www.akinsford.com/index.htm?hl=en&source=hp&q=akins+ford+winder+ga&a q=1&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=akins+ford+winder&gs_rfai=Cr9Z5 8ohMTO-eK5SEygTtl5nAAQAAAKoEBU_QpjxB# (broken link)

It is outside of Atlanta to the Northeast but it is large and maintains a family approach to business.
They service my car and the waiting area is like a family room in a house not a car dealership.

Went there one other time to test drive a car and they took a copy of my license, gave me the keys to an Escape and said "Take er' for a spin and take yer time."

Good folks.

Nada!

I've been asking that question for 20 years and the search still continues for a friendly, welcoming, reputable dealer.

The search seems to be illusive. Just as soon as I think I've found a friendly, welcoming, reputable dealership, something always happens.

So far, they haven't wrecked my car while it's being serviced ( knock on wood ), but often times it's the little, and not so little things, that bug me. Being overcharged tends to bug me, too.

The criteria of: friendly, welcoming, and reputable just doesn't seem to compute. If the dealership is welcoming and friendly, they're often times not reputuable. And if they're reputable, they're often times not friendly and welcoming. It's a no-win situation.

You would think during these tough economic times that dealerships in Atlanta would be friendly and welcoming but that's not necessarily the case.

If anyone is contemplating a move to Atlanta, give some thought to buying a car before the move. Especially if you're happy with your present dealer. So far, I've never had a good new car buying experience.

I had a great experience @ the Toyota dealership on Cobb Pkwy in Marietta. Got a great deal on a 2010 Camry and they gave me a grand over blue book value on my trade in. Also got free oil changes and tires for life.. and they gave me a coupon book for like 30-50% off of tuneups. I actually filled out all of the paperwork but before I sealed the deal I acted like I was about to leave and look at some other cars at other lots even though I knew I was going to buy it. The manager was determined not to let me leave without getting that car lol.

When they gave me the final price and my monthly pay rate I drove off the lot in it the same day.
