Hello,
My husband and I will be moving to the stone mountain area from bronx ny in Aug of this year. I would like to know about:

Renting houses or apartments and what are the landlords looking for ( credit is not that well).
Will they be willing to accept two month rent in advance while we search for employmnent??

what are good School Districts: I have (3) boys 7, 9, 15

The job market for a Admin. Asst. and a Porter Maintaince positions

What utilities are my responsiblity

what areas to stay away from.

Christian chrurchs

This is my first move ever i have been in my apartment its seems like forever I want a change for my family and myself and just a better way of living in general. Thank you in advance for all of your input. If I am missing something please make me a ware of it Thanks

Your children will probably attend school in DeKalb or Gwinnett counties--IIRC, both systems begin the school year around the first week in August this year. It would be a good idea to go to the system's online site and verify the procedures for enrolling students.

Here is a previous thread about Stone Mountain>>>

I would recommend the Tucker area --zip code 30084--it's not far from Stone Mountain. I know that the part of Stone Mt that is adjacent to Lilburn--which is primarily in Gwinnett county --has higher crime stats than Tucker.
