This pure Thai woman does not look classical Oriental. If I saw her walking the streets of Shanghai for example, I would definitely think she is a foreigner right off the bat.
If I saw her walking the streets of Quezon City, I would think she is a native local Filipina and not a foreigner.
Well yeah it's mostly the skin tone, although some Cantonese have this tone (less so Shanghai area, although in rural China it's not that uncommon). Facially though plenty of Southern Chinese look like her. If she told me she was Chinese I wouldn't think much of it.

She looks more Filipina than Chinese. She looks more Khmer than Chinese. She has a very Southeast Asian look. Her look is not very East Asian like Lucy Liu for example.

Well, you definitely understand the definition of the term "pure Thai" wrong. "Pure Thai" is basically mean the Dai/Tai ethnic whom migrate from Yunnan,South-western China in 13th century into Southeast Asia and currently populated as ethnic majority of Laos and Thailand today.
The term "Thai" is basically based on the identity of the Tai/Dai ethnic, the term doesn't referring to the native of mainland of Southeast Asia like those people.
The native of mainland Southeast Asia you just posted didn't call them selves as "Thai" but they called themselves as "Khmer", it's the Dai/Tai that from China whom called themselves "Thai".

You can still look Mongoloid and not look Oriental. Just like you can still look Caucasian and not look Nordic.
Yes of course...if they had fairer skin though they could easily pass as S.Chinese. Even a Khmer and korean are much closer to each other than either is to say a European or African.
But you are proving my point. The modern Thai people are primarily of Chinese origin from migrations within the last 1000 years or so as a result of the population explosion there. So they cannot be a different "race" or a different "phenotype" from Chinese, when they ARE Chinese now can they? China is diverse and all Chinese people don't look the same. That said, Chinese people generally represent North Asian diversity and not the diversity of South East Asia from prior to waves of Northern migration. And much of the "diversity" you claim in these populations comes from the mixture with the original populations, because Asian diversity has always been greatest in the South East, but most of that diversity is now lost as a result of these migrations. Most of the people in these people that people are claiming are "different races" actually look quite similar to each other and the variations in nose and eyes are not unique and can be seen all across Asia. Which just goes to show that "race" is just a fraud and needs to be discarded. Southern China is home to many different ethnic groups.

Well, the Dai/Tai(pure Lao/Thai) ethnic(majority ethnic of Laos and Thailand today) may came from China but these people aren't called "Chinese". Just like other ethnic minority in China that may live in China but aren't considered to be "Chinese". The Tai/Dai(pure Lao/Thai) just like other ethnic minority of China are having their own culture/costume/language/identity and dislike to be called "Chinese".
So do not be confuse and call Tai/Dai(pure Lao/Thai) people to be Chinese. Chinese is basically "Han" the majority ethnic of China. Tai/Dai are basically pure "Lao/Thai" ethnic who is majority of Laos/Thailand/South-western China.
Some good example to make your mind clear about Tai/Dai(pure Lao/Thai) and Han-Chinese.
