I am looking to relocate to Arkansas, I have a small income that I can live off of, but to make things easy my wife works as a title closer and has many years exp. I would like to live on 5 to ten ac. with possible view, I found that hot springs is very high and the property is 8 to 10k and ac. the homes in the area many are grossly over priced and this is driven by people in cal. and other places like Chicago selling there homes for high prices and thinking a home here that is worth real value of say 120k is a deal at 199k This drives prices high, We are going north to Mt, home and southern mo. to look, the homes there I have found are much more affordable. We still need to be with in 30mi of a home depot, super wal-mart ect. and a place my wife and I can find some type of income to fund vacations and medical insurance. Her line of work is usually easy to find as not to many people have the training to do title work. I am a gun collector and shooter and would like to have a small pistol range on my land. I am here for another two weeks in hot springs as the rent for the travel trailer was cheep. 225 with elect. for a month. I will head for Branson and camp out there for a month and see how I like it. Any information on this state and where to look would be helpful

Branson definatley has the amenities you mentioned, but you also might check out Conway, AR. You can be off in the "sticks" and still be within a reasonable driving distance from Conway. Conway is a large town with 3 colleges, so anything you want will be found there.
