My bf and I are thinking of relocating to either AZ, NM or NV. We are in the very early stages of planning so I am just trying to gather information. We currently live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

I am getting ready to graduate college and he is in the Stucco/Plastering industry. How would you rate the overall building industry in the state? What are some hotspots/areas we should look into? Where are places to stay away from?

We are looking to stay with the same quality of life we have now, not sure if we'll rent or buy if we move (trying to stay under 200k which is IMPOSSIBLE here) we live in a medium sized city now and realize with rising costs of Property taxes (4k plus) and Homeowners Insurance (5k plus) in Coastal Florda, we just can't afford it/ Any input is helpful!

Jess

Definitely doable with the opportunity presented for you here. $200k can get you a new house on the edge of the metro area easily. Taxes and insurance will run about $2500 for the year, maybe $3,000. Work is available all over, and you need to visit to see what you prefer. You'll get too many opinions that will distort facts.

The construction industry here is still humming along. Most of the stucco crews are hispanic so speaking spanish would be a plus.
