I was riding today on my 2008 gsxr-750 in the phoenix area in 6th gear doing about 45 mph when i saw a red light ahead. when i saw this i pulled in my cluth so i could downshift to neutral and coast to the red light. when i pulled in my clutch my RPM's dropped to zero, the bike died and FROZE like a computer. even going 10 mph in 1st gear my bike read 6th gear at 43 mph. i turned the key off and turned it back on, didnt work at first but when i did it again the bike came right back to life. i have no clue what caused this the only conclusion i have is that the heat is so intense its screwing with my internal components. any suggestions? thoughts? help?

Sounds more like an electrical problem to me, Smash.

I would start with the ignition switch.

Good Luck

I rode about 100 miles, mostly in peak heat yesterday, and my bike is an air-cooled boxer twin. Still runs like a top. I've ridden it in hotter weather before.

Some bikes have airbox sensors which adjust the timing and fuel mixture based on ambient temperatures. Your ambient temp on that bike sitting in the hot Phoenix sun may have been so far in the extreme that it crashed the computer.

All good sugestions, also, even though all gas tanks are vented it would not hurt to crack the gas cap for a second.

He would have to removed the key from the ignition to do that.

It is a suzuki problem. I have an 08 suzuki as well. For the first few hundred miles, the transmission liked to stick in gear. I couldn't get it out of 6th gear out on a ride through the twisties. I went to a lake, and had to get on the brakes hard because my dumb friend almost missed the turn (he was riding lead.) Had to pull off the road slipping the crap out of the clutch just to get er to move.
