Bravo! I have to give you credit for being optimistic and forward thinking, unlike some of these others who can't seem to pull their heads out long enough to see the possibilities & benefits of a development like this. It would put Casa Grande on the national map if it goes through as planned. Again, I am skeptical because of all the past proposals for similar theme parks that seemed very promising but never came true. With that in mind, I'm wondering if an attraction like this might be better suited for the area south of Chandler near Wild Horse Pass. It would be closer to the Phoenix area and give that area a huge boost. Of course, there would be tribal issues to deal with, but it would be something to consider if the Casa Grande location doesn't work out.

You may not agree with that, call it this/that/the other thing "index" but for me and many others I know feel the same way.
Gotta love the NIMBYs and naysayers. They're the same ones who come here for the weather, and in some cases claim to actually like the heat. They'll be outdoors exerting themselves & risking heat stroke in the middle of the summer, and they'll expect taxpayers to pick up the bill for their rescues if they become overheated or stranded while hiking.

However, bring up the topic of a theme park which could be a major attraction & money maker, and it's "OHHHH NOOOOO, it's too hot here for something like that". They're usually against highrises, stadiums, or any kind of development that is going to block out "their" sunshine or "their" mountain views. I've always wondered what makes NIMBYs the way they are, and my only guess is it must be because they've been out in the Arizona summer heat too long, and their brains are fried as a result.

I'm not a NIMBY, and am pro development. But, I am also a realist

My Facebook Mantra with others that are saying similar things is:

"Dont let SKEPTICISM turn into OPPOSITION". If you are AGAINST it - fine. But that is different than skepticism.

Exactly what harm is there really if we support the process to bring this to fruition?

The ABSOLUTE worst thing that could happen is it gets approved - is open for a few years and fails - then we have the structures to deal with. Not a great prospect - admittedly.

BUT, in this particular case - this acreage will always be prime in the future - and even with the cost of demolition (if required) - there will be interest in this plot of land. It is exactly at the intersection of I 8/I 10.....

And remember that it's value will be heightened even more because the freeway enhancements on both I 8 and I 10 will have been completed as part of THIS project - before they ever let it open.
