Hiya
I am looking to see if anyone has any pros and cons regarding our pending move from the uk to safford, az.

Back in 2001 we lived in Queen Creek & Mesa for a while but came back for family reasons. However, I am soon to be married to a guy who needs to stay close to his children. I will have my two younger children with me, 11 and 3 and hoping to go through the process to have the opportunity to work, drive and generally make a success of our new life.

When we went to Queen Creek, I didnt really have a plan as such, it was more of an extended holiday (vacation) to see if and how we could make the move long term. This time round while my partner and I are going through the list of to-dos to get us there, I'm trying to put together the rest of it to enable me to be more aware of what to expect and look out for once there.

Can someone tell me what grade an 11 yo would be entered into? (She will be 12 in June)

Any feedback would be gratefully received, positive or negative.

Thanks in advance
Debs

If you haven't looked already.. here are a few other threads talking about Safford... they might give you some more information.

Also, you can check out their website City of Safford -- Welcome to the City of Safford! (http://safford.govoffice.com/ - broken link) and their newspaper Eastern Arizona Courier.

I am from Safford (living in Mesa right now) and I would love to go back and live there some day. It is a great place, but like everywhere else it has it's ups and downs. One thing I like is that they always have fun parades and events on Main Street during holidays and events and it is really neat to me. It has grown quite a bit in the last few years.

My little sister is 13 years old and in 8th grade... so I am guessing your child of 11 would maybe be in 6th or 7th? Not quite sure, i'm not the one to answer that.

Also, i've never been to the uk, so I have no idea how to compare it. It is usually like 10 degrees cooler than Mesa area.. but much nicer and cooler in the winter time.
