Where it doesn't go above 100 or below freezing? Looking for a low humidity climate without extremes of heat and no ice,and without the INSANE CA. COL!

I was considering Prescott but the housing costs look like CA prices!

Try Bisbee, maybe? About the same average highs as Prescott during the peak of summer, but not as cold at nights in the winters (Prescott will get down below freezing fairly often during the winter months). Bisbee's lowest "average" low is 34 degrees, and highest average high is 89. And it's cheaper than Prescott.

It's almost in Arizona (about 3 hours drive east of Tucson) but look at Silver City NM. On my short list of places to retire to.

Central Az as in Payson, Prescott, Jerome, Sedona, Cottonwood might be some areas to check out. Also in Southern Az with elevations that keep temps below the 100s, might you consider Sierra Vista, Benson, or Bisbee? Both Central Az and Southern Az are close enough to a major metro area (Phoenix, Tucson) to provide for shopping but far away from the noise and traffic.

Pretty much anywhere in AZ will get below freezing overnight at some point... the question is for how often and for how long.

Oh my... I apologize for wasting your time.I have come to see that I most likely will see at least some stretch of really hot days and some freezing temps,in AZ,so I have to consider for how long would these events be acceptable.

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that I am 63,so want good health care in the area, and as my adult son and possibly 13 yr. old granddaughter will also be moving with me,the area must have recreation/attractions that they would enjoy, such as go-karting,paintball, lazer tag, amusement parks.

I lived in Tucson as a teen when my AF dad was stationed there, and it was my favorite of all the places we lived,so I'm wondering if Tucson has temps below the 100's for most months of the year?I just remember no mosquitoes and how everyone freaked when we got one light snow that melted by lunchtime!I'm thinking that considering the amenities, and much lower COL,that Tucson would be more suitable than Prescott.[Phoenix is not even an option].

We are looking to escape the horrible muggy/buggy summers and frigid winters of Ohio, plus want more year round accessibility to recreation.

you certainly will be able to get away from muggy/buggy out here with the low humidity (it does get humid in July/August, though)....but, with that low humidity and not being near an ocean, the temperature swings will be large day-to-night and winter-to-summer....year-round recreation is very common in most areas of the state....

there is no place in Arizona that both never gets above 100 and never gets below freezing....you'll need to be within a few miles of an ocean to get that....

if you even do get it, it'll just seem like a flu and then go away...in extremely rare cases, it's fatal
