Bob, our thoughts would likely be the same as when you did this last time (although I think you came from FL by way of TX then). If you liked it there last time, go for it.

This past winter I was working for Walt Disney World in Housekeeping. Now that I have added second skill can always go back to Grand Canyon North Rim. I never made it back to North Rim the second time around from Texas because I stayed at that Job West Texas Big Bend Resorts.

Sorry, when you said "old job back" at the NR I assumed you'd been there.

It's a beautiful place to spend a summer. Whether you will find anyone else here on the forum who has worked there and can speak on that issue, well, you'll just have to wait and see.

Yes have been thier before back in 2008. It looks promising August to October 2011. I would take highway 75 and then highway 20 all the way over to Phoenix and then up to Grand Canyon area.

"Highway 20"? Do you mean Interstate 10?

make sure you have housing that's good enough for you....it gets cold at night up there at 8000' even in the summer.....occasional summer storms can be furious.....remember the North Rim is way around from the south side....make sure you have your working conditions and all that squared away.....

GO FOR IT, Bob.

I would kill to live and work at the North Rim even if only for a few months although I would prefer to only LIVE and NOT work.

dorms are right on location. very good too. North Rim at base location is very high in elevation. done it before working back in 2008.. I am coming from Florida sea level. Advice drink lots of water higher elevation.
