Can anyone recommend the best/cheapest way to get my car down to Colorado? Any recommended carriers? Uncle Sam will pay for one but I'm on my own for the other. I don't have the time to drive it so I have to ship it.

It's a 97 Subaru Legacy w/ 140K miles. I could probably sell it & buy another, but it's a good car that gets good mileage so I don't know if I want to get rid of it.

According to Edmunds...it retails for about $500 more in Anchorage than Colorado Springs.

I know how long it takes. I don't have time to drive it. Need to get down there, find a house, etc before wife gives birth.

Cheapest way? Pay someone to drive it and give them a plane ticket back.

There's really no cheap way. It seems from the information provided that you might be best served by just selling it. With the large military population in the Springs you shouldn't have a problem picking up a new car once you're there. The lemon lot on Ft. Carson always had a great selection when I lived there a few years back...

I would sell it. Subarus are everywhere! then you wouldn't have the stress/cost of shipping.

I agree with the idea of selling it. I shipped a car from Seattle to Anchorage a few years ago and it cost $1,200 (I'm sure the price is more now), which is almost what the car is worth. In my opinion, its not worth the cost (and hassle) of shipping it.
