Yikes!!
Heating oil in the villages is a huge financial burden! And, I'm thinking there's not so many trees out there.....am I right, Warpt ?
Square footage definitely seems to make a difference. We paid 100 a month each for gas and electric on a 900sq ft home last year. We'll see what it is this year.....

if you plan to heat with wood in bethel, you'll have to cut down a whole lot of willows and alders. not exactly a lot of spruce or birch forests around there...

ellara - what kind of work will you be doing in Bethel? I just moved to Anchorage, but will be traveling occasionally to Bethel because of my job.

I have yet to wait for my first bill to come since I moved into my place. I live upstairs, so I think that helps with some of my heating from the house below me!!

"Illimunate your heating bill"

Drill holes in your floor and share heating expenses with the people below you.

I am planning to move from Redding .ca to Big Lake and have been checking out your comments on cost of heating and electricity. Great information people. Do you have a plan for low income families? Here P G E has an average payment plan to help balance fixed incomes. Petie
