please tell me your favorite wine (white or red) priced at around $15 a bottle. i'm on a budget and please include whether it's dry or not....i'm not fond of anything too dry!!
You call $15 a bottle INEXPENSIVE?? My god!
I like to drink Gallo Paisano. It's about $10 a gallon I believe. Good stuff, especially with spaghetti - oh wait - I suppose that's "pasta" to the snooty folks. LOL
Anyway. I like Gallo Burgundy too, but it is very hard to find. The snooty folks have convinced everybody that Merlot or Caberinet is better than Burgundy so you have to look hard to find it.

LOL @ snooty.
I'm in no way snooty, and call spaghetti pasta LOL. It may just be the region of the states that I'm from.
I absolutely love a good Pinot Noir (red).
I've worked in some restaurants throughout my life. The last place was a fine dining establishment, where I learned A LOT about food and wine.
Another vote for "2-buck Chuck" from Trader Joe's if available, Barefoot wines are very good and way below your $15 price point. If you can find Crane Lake brand wines from California in your area, they are both good and very inexpensive, around here $3.48 per bottle if memory serves. King Fish, also from CA, is a bit more $ and also good. Alice White, Penguin, and other Aussie wines are reliably good, Gato Negro or Gato Blanco (red and white respectively) from Chile are usually less than $5 and are good.
I would only spend more than $15 (indeed, $10) for a special bottle of wine for a special occasion. You can definitely find good wines for less than $10 per regular bottle.
Not to mention if you can drink it up while its still fresh, the 1.5 liter bottle is usually available and is less than 2X the price of the small bottle. Get yourself a Vacu-Vin vacuum pump and set of rubber corks, wash out and keep a 750 ml bottle, decant half and vacuum-ize, drink the rest.
Hic.
Final comment, for not too dry, Sangiovese and other Italian varieties are probably good bets.
