For example, yesterday I made myself an experimental cocktail where I mixed pineapple juice (actual real pineapple juice from a pineapple can) with actual pineapple in it with some orange juice and soda water and rum. And of course, lots of crushed ice! However, while it tasted good quickly afterward I felt kinda ****. My stomach was a bit upset, and the alcohol high for some reason made me fill unrelaxed and ill instead of nice and comfy like a glass of beer or whiskey would have done. My guess is that the sugar and all the sweet juices are to blame.

Do you know about any simple cocktails that won't give you a sugar hangover?
Hi,

I also don't like sweet ingredients in my cocktail so, was searching and come across a great drink hope you like cocktail.

Take a thumb-sized portion of fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced.

Bring a pot of water to boil.

Add sliced ginger and boil for a minute or two then remove from heat and put the lid on it and let it steep at least ten minutes - the longer the stronger the flavor.

(I keep this ginger water in my fridge in a mason jar to add to anything that needs a ginger flavor)

Fill small glass with enough ice to cool the ginger water if it is still hot.

Add ginger water.

Add whiskey (bitters are optional).

Try it & enjoy it.

This is one I like and I hate sweet drinks.

I call it a Cape-Cod Spritzer

Fill a glass with ice and add
2 oz vodka
2 oz "light" cranberry juice (or to taste)
A twist of lime
Top off with club soda

Vodka with club soda or tonic with a splash of your favorite juice.
