Dark and Stormy is ginger beer and goslings rum. you can use any ginger beer depending on how "zippy" you want your drink, but the original calls for Barritts which is from Bermuda.

Most rums make me "ill", but Goslings has never given me any trouble so perhaps it was the rum, not the mixer that bothered you.

Another very simple drink is a "Gin Buck" That is gin and ginger ale.

Lately I've been making my "Raspberry Lemontini"

Raspberry Vodka, half fresh squeezed lemon, water, sugar rim of glass if you like. Serve cold. Simple and yummy, not sweet, easy on calories.

My go to mixer lately has been a middling bourbon (high end deserves to be served neat or on the rocks) with sweet and sour mix plus a half to quarter shot of cherry juice. Good warm weather whiskey cocktail.

A real Margarita.

2 oz Tequila (something not crap, surely not Jose Cuervo and must be 100% Agave)
1 oz Triple Sec
Juice from two limes

That's it. Thank me later.
