My husband is the rum lover and connoisseur in this house. It's not really my thing.

At the moment we have:

Mount Gay 1703
Barbancourt 15 Reserve du Domaine
Flor de Cana 12

We had Zacapa Centenario years ago. I remember liking that one. It was very smooth with a slightly sweet/caramelly taste.

My favorite is Matusalem Gran Reserva 15 year Solera. I've also had the 18 year but didn't find it significantly different. They also have a 23 year but I have never found it in a store.

I usually just stick to Goslings or Cruzan. I only use rum with Coke or tonic. It's one spirit where I'm perfectly OK not feeling the need to explore further. I have enough to keep me busy with beer, wine, vodka, scotch & gin, lol. It's sort of like tequila to me - I know there are quality bottlings, anejos and whatnot, and while I've tried many, I just don't care enough to add them to my bar.

Other than PR, I haven't spent any time in the Caribbean since the early 80s. But I did visit the Bacardi factory back then. And I found I preferred Cruzan dark, which, on St. Thomas in 1981, was actually cheaper than bottled water.

I like the Captain Morgan's Spiced and Bacardi. Bacardi is smoother (IMHO).

A splash of Diet Coke is in my Spiced tonight.

My favorite rums are Sailor Jerry spiced rum, and any rums by Brutal, from the Dominican Repúblic.
My favorite mixer for rum is ... Apple juice.

My favorite 3 rums right now (always subject to change) are:
Zaya
Zacapa
10-Cane

I'm pretty much an any gold or dark rum person. I consider Mt Gay and Myers and Goslings house rums.

Here's a few picture of the sort of collection I keep at home:
