Oh I'm at work...so it's been coffee & water. I've been working on a 12-pack of the newly-released Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale at home this week, though....almost enough to make me welcome the cooler weather each year when it's released.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some non wine/non champagne drinks that are NOT sweet that I might try as an alternative to my Texas Tea?
I'm strictly a beer drinker these days, but I used to like gimlets (traditionally gin, but vodka can be used too). You can use the Rose's syrup, which is sweet lime, or you can make your own lime juice to mix it and make it as sour/unsweetened as you prefer.

Holy cow, me either. Dad used to fix them all the time. It might have been one of the first drinks he introduced me to when I was probably in college. I do know the first was Barcadi cocktails but Gimlets were not too far behind. Now I think I would like one, but don't have the lime juice either. Hello liquor store before Thanksgiving. For now, it is about time for a glass of wine. When it is Saturday afternoon and football time, it is about wine time.

Do you gimlet people make them with gin or with vodka? I hated gin 30 years ago but haven't tried it since - and the gin i tried then was probably the cheapest in the entire liquor store. I was thinking I might try it again if the taste doesn't come thru too much in a gimlet or something.
