I am getting ready to fix a martini. I haven't had one in about a year or at least not at home and we just got some garlic stuffed olives, so I have to try them out and what is a better way?

Water-I'm on skinny train till the 7th when I leave for Vegas so that means no drinking vino till then cause then I want to eat pizza and that's not on the skinny train. This will suck but I gotta do it. I'm sure my liver will need to be replaced when my Vegas trip is over

DH bough St. Elder's Elder Flower Liqueur. A guy at the liquor store talked him into it.

Honestly, I'd never heard of the stuff.

He made me this a "Texas Vodka Sipper".

1 1/2 parts Tito's hand made vodka
1/2 part Elderflower liqueur
1 1/2 parts grapefruit juice
topped with club soda and a fresh mint sprig from the garden.

I like it! Different but good.

The recipe for the bourbon cocktail from the tapas bar is as follows:

3/4 oz lemon juice
1/2 ounce maple syrup
1 oz Cocchi Torino vermouth
1 oz Buffalo Trace bourbon
1 dash cardamom bitters
2 dashes lavender bitters

I don't generally use bourbon as a mixer, but there's something about this cocktail that I really like.

Right now I am drinking water, but we are getting ready to take some home grown tomatoes to your DD and hubby. I am sure, in return they will provide us with a glass of vino. It is really a wonderful run about: our friends give us fresh produce in the morning and it is too early for wine: we bring it home, take what we want and then go to dd and give her the left overs. I don't grow the tomatoes, I don't pour the wine, but I get to enjoy both, plus some squash, cukes and other stuff our friends donate.
