Still... drink what you like but don't scoff at other flavorful alternatives out there because they're not made by bud miller or coors.
What on earth are you talking about, the only scoffing done in this thread has been in the opposite direction of what you are lecturing on.
Did I miss a post where someone was scoffing at more flavorful beers? I see a couple where people are saying they occasionally prefer something lighter, is that what you are interpreting as negativity directed at alternatives?
Regular Bud contains 145 calories per can. Bud Lite has 110. Which means four cans of Bud Lite would contain the same calories as three cans of Regular Bud.
Why the hell would anybody want to drink four cans of watery slop, instead of three cans that can arguably be called beer? At the same price per can!
And now there is this Platinum Crap, which has 95% of the caloric content of Regular Bud. 95%. Now you can drink 20 cans instead of 19.
Somebody who drinks light beer, please explain to me: You pay the same price, and get 1/2 the alcohol and 3/4 of the calories, and almost no taste at all. Why? (Given the taste of Bud, Miller and Coors, I guess no taste at all is an improvement worth paying for.)
