Hi all!

I'm currently a student at UNM and looking for a month-to-month apartment complex. It doesn't have to be really close to UNM as long as its safe and in a good part of town. I know of the Coronado apartments but have heard horrible things. I'm looking at some month-to-month rentals on Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. and was wondering if anyone had any insight on the area? Is is safe? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Her asked about rentals:

> looking for a month-to-month apartment complex ...

What about semester-start_to_semester-end? Many private landlords in the UNM area do their rentals like that. If you are a student, that should not be an inconvenience.

To find them, you'll need to walk the neighborhoods looking for [For Rent] signs. This is also a good chance to check on whether the neighborhood is decent or not. You cannot get such a feel by doing a drive-by.

> Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. ... Is is safe?

I like it and have known more than one single woman who lived in that area. Don't overlook the area S of Central down to Garfield.

I lived at a small complex on 1010 Marquette, close to MLK. If I remember correctly, the agreement was for 3 months, then month-to-month after that. I did have a car window broken there one night though, but no safety issues other than that.
