I really love all the advice and support all of you give to those of us who don't live in Abq. yet, so I hope you can help me out. I'll be moving to Abq. this Summer and am having a hard time focusing in on what neighborhoods to start focusing in on that might be good matches for me to move to.

A little bit about me: late 40's female/ single (so really wanting a safe neighborhood/and hate cookie cutter homes, really busy neighborhoods and stuffy condo.'s and gated communities. No offense intended to anyone.

I'm much more of a rural woman, but I don't want to be totally out in the boondocks. A friend who lives there suggested Corrales, but there doesn't seem to be any places to rent, at least from what I've seen. And my price range is up to $1200.00 a month.

I don't mind town homes/duplexes/guest houses and obviously rental homes and I would love to be super close to the mountains and see nature/wilderness from where I live without tons of buildings surrounding me.

So any ideas, advice, suggestions, etc...would greatly be appreciated.

Also any rental real estate agents anyone has worked with or knows of that might be able to help me (names, agencies, etc...) would really help me out as I definitely need a good insider link there. Thank you so much, everyone. Who knows maybe we'll meet when I move there...

You left out the most important parts for narrowing it down:

- Where are you working?
- What are your commuting opinions (don't care, want it as short as possible, no more than x amount of time?)

If you want to be in/near the mountains is there a reason you aren't looking at the east mountain area (Tijeras, Sandia Park, Edgewood, Cedar Crest, etc)?
