I am not from the Saratoga area therefore I am trying to get some input and research venue ideas for a bridal shower in March. I am looking for something classy and or unique, but not uptight. I need to accommodate about 40 people. Any ideas?

Many of the local restaurants have private rooms and do parties. Check out The Wine Bar. I think they do parties downstairs. A bit of an ecclectic menu, but the food is good. Nice place. I would also look at Mare. A little bit more "show" than "go" as far as the food is concerned, but some like it. They have a private room/floor upstairs that is like a NYC loft/apt. I've been to parties there and it's been great. I don't know if they'll do dinner upstairs or if they can accomodate that kind of size downstairs and do the party afterward upstairs, but check it out. Another popular spot is the new location for Chianti. I don't know if they do parties. The same goes for The Grey Gelding.

I would also check out Brindisi's and the Circus Cafe (next door to each other, practically across the street from The Wine Bar). Another place to check is One Caroline. Excellent food. I think it's Bobby Flay's favorite place, not that it means anything, LOL.

Here's a couple of websites to check out:

Saratoga County Chamber Of Commerce: The Official Saratoga Springs NY Online Guide!

Good luck.
