So those scalpers want an extra $25 for a second bag even though they make us pay $15 for the first bag.

Heck, Delta wants 50 bucks if your one pound over on the first bag!

Met, if you fly first class, they don't even ask about over weight or the second bag!

I don't know; I never checked into it. I do about five round trips a year or so.

Actually MVP doesn't buy you much from Anchorage these days. Half of the population of this state (it seems) are either MVP or MVP Gold, so upgrades are hard to come by, at least out of ANC. Gold is nice because it does get you quicky security and checkin lines, and pretty much a guaranteed upgrade in the lower 48.

It waives the checked bag fees, which is what Met was mad about.

Are there people who actually fly without a bag? Are people still allowed a carry-on? What a joke. One of my goals in life is to never fly again. Funerals are a problem.

Flying to fairbanks and driving back to anchorage - no need for a bag.

A sparse 5 million profit this quarter is the best they have posted since 1999. Those baggage fees have finally pulled them out of the basement. If people would just pay what the service is worth, airlines wouldn't have to play these kinds of games to survive.

That is what we are talking about here. Razor thin margins determine which airlines survive, and which ones die. Maybe you guys would rather save the 50 bucks, and have no airline service at all........

Maybe big corporations get so Bloated from there own largess they forget how to operate in the black.

Seriously your advocating for airline price gouging ? You must work for one or something.

Never should there ever been a bailout of the airlines. The ones who did not belong in the industry needed to fail and go under. Instead there propped up by the government and allowed to languish.
