This is a slight of hand, posted this in the Selendang Ayu thread already, but it is also an Eagle..... So I slid it in here too....

This one was coming in and sitting over the beach cleanup crews every day for a few hours. No matter where we were at in Scan Bay, it would show up and just sit there and watch us.

Nice pics everyone! Here's another eagle shot: these two guys were on the beach in Seward last year:

Awesome eagle photos you guys!
I've had to learn to put my toys away. Pulled a crab pot last summer and left the pot in the skiff, door open, while I took my catch inside to cook. Looked out the window and something didn't seem right. A young eagle had decided to investigate, crawled right into the pot, flipped it upside down into the bottom of the skiff trapping the eagle inside. I'm still not quite sure how I got that youngn out of there but he was NOT happy! He made it tho, no worse for wear and I learned not to leave the door open on the pots anymore!

Sorry, I don't live in Alaska, but saw the Eagle thread and had to look! Great pics! I am one of the lucky ones in Oregon that get to see Bald Eagles from my home on ocassion - pretty rare here! No pictures, but once, when I was leaving in the morning, one swooped down right in front of my face when I was opening our gate! We have an irrigation ditch that runs through our property, and I think they look for food along it. I just happened to be in the right (almost wrong!) place at the right time! When I turned around, my kids were in the car with their mouths and eyes wide open!

Have a great day!

That reminds me...I do miss the swans that go to that little pond on the right as you're going up the Parks, a little ways after the Talkeetna cutoff. Have you seen them?
