As hard as it seems to believe, she did more harm to the Eagles with good intentions than in fact good. They were depending on her feeding them instead of feeding them instead of them doing for themselves what is natural.

I should have made myself clearer I guess. I don't approve of feeding any animals as they become dependent on humans to feed them. It was sad to see just how confused the eagles were and I am sure for a long time to come they will keep returning to see if there is food. I hope some of the younger ones don't die because of this. I was glad to see that they removed EVERYTHING so that the eagles would know that it is gone.

I drive back across the spit getting parts for the boat. The Eagles are all over the place.

They seem to be doing fine, but you can walk up to them and they don't have any fear of people which isn't a good thing for a wild animal that needs to survive in the wild.

no that is not good! hopefully people don't start holding out food trying to feed them because they will come up to people. all it will take is one eagle to slightly injure or scare someone, then the eagles will become a nuisance and they people want something done about it. Just like the idiots that feed moose and try to pet them or feed the bears!!

Technically speaking, a group of eagles are called a "convocation." (Latin for 'calling together')

Nice pictures.

Yeah, but they were pretty motley looking in the wind and the term "Gaggle" just fit...

Most were pretty young ones, there was a few hundred all over that day, waiting for the cannery to dump something I would assume.
