I have been to Alaska several times but never purchase the fishing license. What is the going rate at today's market for a Non Alaskan? And what does it offer?

Bob, there are several difference types that you can get, and they'll vary by the length of time and location. You should Google the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and look up the sports fishing regs.

It also depends on your age (physical, not mental). My kids got 'free' fishing licenses when we went we just had to fill out a card with how many fish they caught, if any.

Also, there are some discounts for military and disabled people too. Best is to do what Met said and check out the ADFG site. Besides where, you need to know WHAT you will be fishing for.

I'll help you out a little - start here: Sport Fishing Licenses and King Salmon Stamps, Alaska Department of Fish and Game

And remember, you'll be buying a non-resident license.

I wouldn't... the meat is tough, stringy and has a bitter taste.
