My camera will only go up to 15 seconds and those are both at that length. I don't have any type of photo editing software and not really interested in spending money on one. Those things are outrageous!

Yes, the software can be expensive. Since you are doing fine with your photos, I agree with you about not spending the money. I use it because some of it was provided to me at a very low cost, and because I prefer to shoot RAW.

My camera can't shoot RAW but my photographer friends all do. Of course, my camera cost less then $500 and theirs costs...quite a bit more lol.

And you are doing just fine. The main thing is to have fun, regardless of the camera used. But let me tell you...it was darn cold where I was at last night

As far as photo editing software goes, you can do a lot with just GIMP and it's free.

Oh gosh but it was worth it looking at these pictures. Yea we had a bit of a breeze which really chilled me. You know, we don't normally have any wind, so when we do, it goes straight through.

Yes, the light breeze is what made it cold for me. I have been in and out tonight (Sat. the 24th), but the Auroras have not shown, nor has the short-term forecast been good. Just checked the Auroras forecast at UAF, and it looks promising for Monday, and real good Tuesday morning. However, I work Monday, so I won't probably be out taking pictures. Monday late night could be real good.

This one is for Monday, but switch to Tuesday to see what's coming

Forecaster Comments: The effects of a solar event on the 24th should reach Earth late on the 26th or early on the 27th. Watch the short term forecast for increased activity.
