All of my pictures up until two years ago were with a Canon A640 or a Fuji E990 point and shoot. For the last two years I've been using a Canon 40D.

I'd also like Nikon's new point and shoot, the S8100.

I want to get a good camera. I know NOTHING about photography. I want a good camera, with a good lens (for traveling mostly) but can't spend a fortune on it.
What do you say about the Nikon 3100 compared to the D90 or can you suggest something else? Which lens would be a good all around lens? 18 -200?
I was looking at cameras this weekend at Best Buy and picked up some terminology.
I hate to carry all kinds of heavy, bulky equipment through airports and trains and buses so...... any GREAT point & shoots????
Thanks very much!!!! You can DM me any ideas if you want. Thanks.
Hi! As for me the Nikon 3100 is best one for it

Hi Oleg.
My son bought the Nikon 3100 the other day. He took about 1,000 pics and just packed it up last night to return it. Seems it's not for him. I don't know the difference.

Warpt, he's telling me I would like the Nikon P100 for I what I want to do. Also looking at the Canon S95????

Warpt I thought you had the Nikon D90! I want a good zoom for distance pics but I don't want bulk.

That's a cool one, Mr. Nephler. Sometimes black and white looks better than color.
