I, too, was very happy with the Mk I, but it was designed for the pre-digital era. As the digital bodies become better, the sensors will out-resolve the older designs. This new one is presumably state-of-the-art design.

Geez, back when I was his age that type of reaction was usually reserved for the latest issue of Playboy. How times have changed.

And what is a 16 yr. old doing with a $2500 lens in the first place?

BTW, I notice Canon didn't change that f'ugly gold lens pouch. I have two of those stashed in a drawer somewhere and have yet to ever find a practical use for them.
