that was just awesome, I need to dig up the slides we have from the late 60s early 70s and get them converted to some digital pics.

Did you guys get to see the lunar eclipse last night? It was awesome!!! We had clear skies and the viewing was great. The community college down the road from my house had a telescope set up on the hill....great views.

Nevermind Barkingowl....I see you list your tools of the trade on the forum. I love moon shots!! I didn't take any b/c I know it's pretty pointless with the point and shoot I have, although I can get some cool landscape pics out of it...

I love that pic someone posted of the harvest moon.

Saw your pics too Warpt!

I had binoculars.

We had really cloudy skies last night but the clouds were moving fairly quickly so I would get a good look at the moon frequently.

My son set up my camera on a tripod and we got some so so and some nicer pics. I think he had the shutter on super slow or something and he attached some lens to the camera's lens. What ended up happening was that as the clouds moved out of the way, sometimes the shutter hadn't clicked yet, and we would end up with the moon way off the focus point. Not so good pics there. They're posted in the photography forum if you want to take a look. These were not with a professional camera. I just have a little Canon A720 IS and it's more than enough for my usual needs.
