Ah bugga, I missed it. Sun beat me (still dark with stars but definitely lighter - no lights but I managed to catch a wee shooting star). Excellent shot, Rance!

Default Mount Redoubt

This morning in all it's splendor. No steaming fumaroles that I could see. It was 11° and very calm on the beach. Heck of a sunrise.











In the dunes...



And yes...I zoomed in with the Bigma looking for steamy vents...

Good shots Rance....that last close up looks pretty sharp for the ole mountain being 50 miles out there

Had to rest the lens on the door window! Not gonna put that equiment on my cheesy plastic tripod! I was feeling kind of vulnerable sitting on the Kenai Public Beach. As much as I'd like to see that baby erupt...I didn't feel safe right at waters edge!
On the news this morning it looks like the ash cloud will head right toward Anchorage and the Peninsula if it blows today. Gnarly!
