Looks like an enhanced drivers license should get you back into the US just fine. Famlife, are you sure you can't use it to cross into Canada through a different state?

ya know i haven't actually checked on that. i was going by a friend's input, and it made sense so i went with it lol i'm gonna go look this up though thx! it'd be much better imo looking at the map more closely, to take the advice of going through Montana if possible. Much prettier and I've not yet been through there.

Don't go on a friend's input when crossing the border.

I know that WA has an enhanced driver's license; Michigan may also.

You can also get a passport card which is much less expensive than getting a regular passport and is good for travel to countries bordering the U.S.

Lot of people with families kids like Gustavus, Alaska. You can drive to Skagway, Alaska south east and take small charter sea plane from the airport. Then take short 1/2 day cruise from Glacier Bay Lodge to see the glaciers up close.
