Buddy, trust me, I would loooove to be able to afford to drive a huge diesel truck. I absolutely friggin love driving F-250 turbodiesels, it feels like a big rig with the extremely high ride height and the cab lights. That would be a dream car of mine, but until then, my next vehicle is probably going to be a Tacoma. Probably crew cab, maybe just the extended though. I love the way the extended cabs feel on the interior; it feels more like it's "your truck", if you catch my drift. Crew cabs feel more like a passenger vehicle. But yeah, until I find me some F-250 money, it's Tacoma for me.

When you have a family of four, the crew cab is nice. If it was just me and the wife (or just me) then an extended cab would be the way to go. Cheaper to buy, cheaper on fuel, shorter and easy to park and drive in the city.

My first truck was a regular cab, short bed Dodge... Notice I drive Fords...

^ Yep, you nailed it. My two trucks (both Z71 Chevrolets) have been crew cabs, but it's because I've always had a whole bunch of friends that I went on road trips with. So we would all pile into the crew cab and go, and it was like our own rolling living room. But yeah, my next truck will probably be the extended cab, and I hope and pray and cross my fingers that I can find one with a manual transmission. Oh, and hopefully diesel too.

I am curious on the pay. Would $70K per year be a decent wage, or is that in the poor house? Where I am, $40K per year is pretty good. Is there a hospital there?

70k is a good wage in Barrow, above the median. There is a small, critical-acess only hospital in Barrow: Samuel Simmonds Memorial.

I know may be kind of silly. You should invest in good size television and xbox system. Become more popular that way with Barrow population. Inviting friends over. Natives are as much like you and I. Have your living room stand out from the rest of the pack.

Bob; you just described almost every resident of Barrow!

Wide screen tv's & X-box - Play station is practically the only thing these children have to occupy themselves with.

No activites for the children ;-

These children NEED Youth centers with activities that teach moral values.

X-box and play station games are primarily used to teach the user how to KILL.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if 70K was a decent wage or not.

I am all for community centers. Skagway Recreation Center, Haines indoor swimming pool and Nome indoor swimming pool. Barrow, all they have is whale hunts. Maybe the local Government of Barrow can put in comfort suites hotel with indoor swimming pool. Business Hotels | Comfort Suites Hotels | Business Travel Hotel
