Great pictures, thank you for sharing.

It looks like a bustling modern city, tell us a little bit about the place.

For example, how is the cost of living for the average worker? What percentage of the inhabitants are foreigners?

How tolerant are the local population and powers that be of non-Muslims?

How does Alexandria compare to Istanbul?

That is a great photo collection, even if some of it might, errr... ought to have been resized somewhat before posting.

I made a much more mundane visit to Alexandria and came back mostly with photos of daily life.

Alexandria has one the largest orthodox christians (Coptic) in the middle east. Although these two religious groups live under constant violence, on a individual basis religion should not be a problem at all. In my opinion, Egypt and Turkey are two of the Mulsim countries with a broader vision in terms of tolerance.
