Which city has a cheaper cost of living? (what is the average rents per each city)

Which one is more developed overall? (roads, trains, water-safety, electricity-reliablity, etc, etc)

Which one has better nightlife?

Which ones feels better and offers more?

Which is cleaner?

Thanks!!

Are those your only choices? If your employer wants to post you to one of those places, read that as "We can't fire you, but we hope you'll quit."

As for night life, I doubt if there is any in Nairobi. Nobody would dare go out at night. But Nairobi would have a lot nicer places to get out of the city on weekends, and a lot easier to get out to them. You'd feel imprisoned in Lagos.

I believe that Lagos is considered one of the most dangerous and corrupt cities on earth. Why are these the choices? If I had to choose? Nairobi, hands down. And I know nothing about Nairobi.

I want a vacation property in Africa somewhere, it's just so exotic and such a completely different way of life.

You could go to Europe, Australia, and even parts of Asia and they have such a high quality of life so it really isn't that much different then the USA if you think about it... I just want something different! lol

I want to rent first so if I don't like it then I could just leave (as long as it's not breaking the lease of course).

Why would you want a lower quality of life from your vacation spot?

From everything I've read and know, NAIROBI is much better than Lagos.

.
If that is what you are looking for, why did you pick those two huge and dangerous cities? How would you answer if somebody asked you "Should I buy a vacation property in Chicago or Detroit?"

Africa is a huge continent. Looks like you are looking for 'nightlife'. I think you can't really go wrong anywhere in Africa for nightlife. You don't need to live in a dangerous city, particularly like Lagos.

I don't know Africa that well, but I'd probably focus on where the Europeans vacation in Africa...and I think it's often on West Africa - places like Senegal, Ghana, etc.

That being said, Naroibi seems kind of interesting, and it seems to be a popular tourist attraction of a city in its own right. So, that city might work.

From everything I know, Lagos and Nigeria are the major places to avoid at all costs if at all possible. I've never heard one positive thing about that city or that country.

Naroibi at least has a mix of negative and positive.

I'm Nigerian. Lagos for the most will not be fun for you judging from your intentions.

However, all those amenities/qualties you're looking for can easily be found in certain upper class locations in lagos in its entirety.

I have never been to or read about Nairobi.

Ghana is a good suggestion.
