I like the privacy features we enjoy here, like making our friends list or profile and albums private..Is there anything in the future that we can also make our reputation private? Don't misunderstand me, I like every rep point I have and love giving them to good posts..
It is just a bit awkward at times and some people can really make very rude remarks that are so untrue about someone with a high rep count..
I just want to say that it's a little disheartening that some members would choose to lessen your joy at the recognition you've received from hundreds of other members in the form of rep. I'm sorry to hear that you're on the receiving end of that kind of mean-spirited feedback.

Please report every post (by clicking on the Report icon) where any member makes these type rude remarks regarding another's rep count in the future, please.
It's unfortunate that this happens... as the rep points are meant to be badges of honor for the recipient... and not something that one should be shamed into hiding... and while we CAN'T make the reputation private, we CAN do away with the rude remarks!

blue....please don't let anyone ever take away from you the show of appreciation that others have bestowed upon you for your thoughtful, informative, caring, and interesting posts. It is members such as yourself that have really helped to make this wonderful place called City-Data what it is today.
There will always be some 'sad sacks' that prefer to look at the world negatively and, as the saying goes, misery loves company. Let them stew in their own petard while the rest continue using C-D in a most pleasant manner. And having said that, I am now on my way to find posts that intrigue and fascinate my sense of wonder for encouraging like posts and upping their reputation for doing so!!!...
