Somehow, when the Social Groups began I was in 'another realm'. Finally found them--no longer see the link to click to go to them at the bottom of any page but I bookmarked the page and do not worry about that.
The group I want to start is for fans of the 'Outlander' series by Diana Gabaldon. Very enjoyable tale--6 books, that, imo, everyone should read--they can broaden one's perspective on The World, etc.
I like to talk about these books and figure there are others who have read them or would read them and that this would be Fun.
I don't know whether it should be a Moderated group or not. The ones I have joined seemed to operate well without much moderation. So maybe this one would, too.
Any thoughts--instructions on whom to contact to set up this group?

ETA:
I guess I don't need an answer--I went back to Social Groups and clicked 'Create A Group' and now the 'Outlander' Discussion Group is ready for business.

Reason: Started the group
If you go to My Settings, on the left, you'll see the link to Social Groups. Clink on it and it'll take you to the list of recently created groups. Scroll down the page and, on the blue bar at the bottom you'll find the link saying: Create a New Group.

Thanks. I rarely click on my settings.
Can we make avatars appear on our posts? How do we make a pic in social groups?
I'll ask around. Things are going very well here--some hard work going on behind the scenes, I know.
Then you're missing some fun! After clicking on My Settings, if you click on the arrow to open Latest Reputations Received and Latest Reputations Received from Guests you'll see which of your posts received reps, often from whom, and what comments those reppers left for you to read.
what are the differences is choosing a Group Type?
Public is free for all. Moderated - gives the creator the ability to remove messages they don't want and approve the ones they like. Invite only is self-explanatory, I think? Can only be joined on the creator's request.
I find delightful, playful irony that someone with a screen name of "Take A Hike" wants to start a "social" group.
