This is probably a stupid question but I'm not particularly computer or camera savvy and I've been wondering why some photos in threads are thumbnail-sized while others contain photos that are large. Any photos that I've ever posted have been thumbnail-sized and I understand that they can be enlarged by clicking on them but I've often wondered how the large photos in some threads are done.

It has to do with how the user uploaded the photos, and whether they used the photo icon for their post or just attached it as a thumbnail file. I must admit I prefer bigger photos to the thumbnails. Not too big though--400-500 is about as wide as a photo should be IMO.

I agree. I rarely bother to click on a thumbnail.
