How do I sort the new posts out from the old ones? Because most of the posts I have been seeing are pretty old.

In My Settings, in the Control Panel at the bottom, there are several options for how you want threads to display.

For an explanation of the terms, and help on viewing new posts, go to this Help page:

I have mine set up to show the most recent post at the top of the page. Whenever I click on a thread, the first post I see is the most recent one.
