Another alternative is to use the link in a member's profile. Under the "Statistics" tab, you'll see a link under the first sections titled "Total Posts" for:

Find all posts by Sgoldie

and

Find all threads started by Sgoldie

Doing a search that way only takes you back 3700 posts....

I know about those already but what if I was just on the main page and not already looking at a persons individual post on a thread? I didn't see where using the search button would take me to a posters main page so that I could click on their previous posts or to find a particular poster to read their bio. Could there be an option on the main page search button that would take you to a persons main page?

I don't think there's a real fast and simple way to do it other than to search for the member's profile you're looking for.

There is an "auto-fill" feature on the Advanced Search page so it makes it easier to find an individual member.

On this page, if you start to fill-in the member's name in the "User Name" box on the right side of the page, it will auto-fill as you type. In other words, if you type in "sgol" in the box, you'll see that your screen name will show up fifth in the drop-down list. The more letters you complete, the shorter the list becomes so by the time you type in "sgoldi" your name will be the only one suggested. You can click on any suggested name at anytime to automatically fill the box.

However, they don't list the threads by most recent date. It's frustrating because sometimes you'll have to do a little searching around.

Sometimes I'll set it for "Find All Threads Started by User" so the probability will be greater to see a link to the user's profile.

I noticed that too. It's ok if someone has started a thread but if they haven't then you have to go through whatever threads they posted to to find their profile. The same thing with using the advanced button on the main page search.

Would it be possible to add a "go to their profile" in these two places in addition to go to their posts or threads?

Yes, I'd like to see such a link or a button to do that. I'm thinking that vbulletin doesn't offer such an option because I've been on many vbulletin sites and haven't seen such a feature.

One other thing I did notice while playing around with the search page is if you set the "Show Results as" option in the Search Options section to "Posts" it will give you the list of posts by that user and then you can click on the link to their profile.

Anybody else have a suggestion as to the quickest way to get to a specific member's profile from the C-DF home page? I'd like to know this too.
