I've been saying this forever! Most of the bashing is political related, but the level of ignorance about everything apolitical about this state is astounding. My job's based in the DC area but I work from my hometown here in CA; my wife is also from NY, everyone I've met from the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) and NY areas understand so little about this state. Even my wife, before she started visiting here, basically thought the whole state was like LA and Orange County.

Yeah California has a perfect weather, perfect natural beauty and perfect ethnic diversity to go along with it. No wonder COL is so high, because it’s so desirable.. I laugh when right-wing trolls try to bash it. I mean why would anyone want to live in Texas or Florida if they could afford California?

Ironically, with all the rich geriatrics moving into Florida, COL over there has climbed up dramatically. Their state is slowly turning precisely into something they have spent their whole lives criticizing. It’s a matter of time before native Floridians get priced out.

Paleeze. If you lived here you'd realize the biggest whiners/bashers whatever you want to call it are those born here that can't afford to live here. Yet, they believe they are entitled to because they were born here. These people aren't right wing as you put it.

Florida aka Miami/Tampa/Jacksonville/Orlando is the only State where this is happening because of Cubans. Every other expensive city in other States is beholden to the blue team.

The coastal towns in Humboldt County are a no-brainer: Arcata, Ferndale, Eureka, Trinidad, to name just a few.

Sausalito. Santa Cruz. Mendocino.
