Thank you, blame. I tell you the greatest feeling in the world at my age is not a climax it's the freedom to be able to buy whatever you want whenever you want it. Financial freedom is everything after having a good and loving spouse by your side. I feel for those who are struggling financially. I endured it for decades and it made life horrible. Thank God it's over.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not far away from retiring myself (If I didn't enjoy my job, I'd be tempted to retire tomorrow....I can't say I haven't peeked at the SS website). I did find some of that financial freedom in just moving temporarily out of state, but was wise enough to hang on to our house in the Bay Area. There's a good chance we will be back in retirement, since we will still have the property tax advantage that long term residents enjoy thanks to Prop 13 and our income will be lower for tax purposes. There is nothing more valuable than real estate in CA and I thank God we were wise enough to buy a home in the SF Bay Area (best decision we ever made).

Congrats on your retirement. Do you live in Ca or another state? If you live in another state is it because of tax reasons?
